FRP versus Poly
Although there are many stories about the benefits of each of these products, the facts are simple and easy to understand. Both products will store clean, clear, taste free water. It is simply a case of comparing the benefits of each manufacturing process to your own individual requirement.
For example, if you live in a bushfire prone area or the tank is to be used as part of a fire fighting system, an FRP tank may be better suited due to its higher tensile strength (8 times stronger at 25°C, and 15 times stronger at 75°C).
However, if you are looking for a rainwater tank that is to be located in an area where there is significant ground movement, polyethylene may be the preferred option.
